First Polaroid 600 shot in a long, long time...

I was sifting through the stuff in my studio and found my favorite all-time Polaroid 600 camera: the SLR 680 SE. It's the SX-70 body made for 600 film, with manual/auto focus and a built in flash. Just a stupendous piece of camera-ness. My cats knocked it off a table when I first got it so I have it all sorts of taped up, but it works.

Drained and stoopid from the hectic week... I am making progress on the work for the upcoming Uppercase Art Show, though... I was all down on myself for not thinking of some super clever, ironic thing to do. Then I remembered that I am a photographer of sorts, and I have my way of doing it, and that is how I am approaching the challenge.

There is something in this that buzzed my eyes... Had to take a shot.

So there has been some drama! Two days ago, sweet Walter started yelping a bit. Then that night, he cried and cried. I finally found some plastic really stuck down in his teeth at about 3 am. WE both settled in, I thought I had fixed the sitch for the most part. Then last night he cried again, though not as much. He also was uncomfortable taking a poo, and then I saw that he was passing pieces of plastic. Yet another sleepless night for me, but Walter seemed okay-ish. Then he passed more plastic this morning with some distress, so I hustled him to the vet's for observation. She says he has been happy and eating, no blood in his samples...

We may very well have dodged a bullet. I had the big freak out last night, at about 2 am... I could bring a credit card out of retirement, maybe... Could afford maybe up to $4000 for any surgeries that way, maybe... But then debt, huge lurking debt all over again! Then oh my god, what if he doesn't make it... Total meltdown.

I am sleepy, and I can't wait to see my pup.

Pre-Warning Whoof Look

I am working towards some more big changes but man, it can be so discouraging. You work at full throttle all day, you run to do errands, you come home to the same mess with the same lack of energy. I am experiencing a bit of a air pocket, motivation-wise...

But then, the animals are all awesome, and I am seeing friends 2 and 3 times a week and I am making some art, albeit small and rough.

It was so odd, sky-wise... 

First foray to the piers since I started this job.

The stormy summer weather has left the household a bit tempest-tossed... All three animals are shedding handfuls of hair and sitting close to me when I get home. I don;t mind, I am just amazed they aren't bald yet—I am sweeping up tumbleweeds of fur.
