A Blast from My Past: "So You're Moving to the Big CIty" Pamphlets

Back in 2000, I was in love with someone who lived in the Mid-West, and we had a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship. I had just moved to New York City, so when she decided to move here, I was just beside myself with joy and all that. As some of you may remember, when I pitch woo, I make little paper things for the lady-fair of mine eye. In this case, the object of my affection had both a cat and a dog, so I figured I would write something for them. The downloadable pamphlets below were both drawn in a single sitting late one night in 2000. I was living in Greenpoint in an illegal sublet above a factory, pining for some normalcy and perhaps some romance.
They are rather primitive, but capture a bit of how excited and hopeful I was. Originally, they were folded into pamphlets. I broke the scans out into paginated PDFs.

These should go in the Valentines section under Ephemera from Crushes, but what the hell.
Oh, and the relationship lasted for a while, more then less happily. Alas. We'll always have these bits of paper to commemorate the good times.
Banner project building steam!
You may have noticed that the banners are changing with some frequency these days. I am using them as a warm-up for the day: I give myself 20 minutes and I try to come up with something interesting. Here is the link to the gallery of all the previous banners. You can also find it by going to the left-hand sidebar and clicking on Ongoing Projects.

I love these gridded index cards...
I was shopping for supplies for this year's valentine and found these awesome gridded index cards. Immediately bought them and have been busy doodling, and this one is the best one so far. No real relation to the grid but what the heck.

I just gave up on the feet. Sigh.
I also have been doing a couple exquisite corpses with myself: I draw part of a drawing then cover it up to the edge of the lines where I will begin the next time, then put it in a stack to finish when the mood hits. This one was 2 different sessions, the head one day and the body all very quickly yesterday.

I was on a call, then the call was all on me.
